Introduction
Workspaces in Blue form the fundamental framework for organizing users and data.
How Workspaces Work
Every workspace in Blue is entirely self-contained. Only users that are specifically invited into the workspace can see the data and collaborate. You can have an unlimited number of workspaces within a Blue account.
There are two ways of thinking about workspaces in Blue:
- Projects: A project usually has a clear beginning and end, focusing on specific goals or events. Examples include launching an event, rebranding, or designing a website. These workspaces are goal-oriented and have set objectives and timelines. Once completed, they are often archived.
- Processes: Blue also supports ongoing processes that don’t have a fixed end date. These can include tasks like customer service, helpdesk operations, sales tracking, and recruitment. These workspaces require regular management and organization but are continuous in nature.
Workspace Settings
Workspace Administrators can access workspace settings from the Settings tab in the workspace navigation bar. The settings page is organized into the following sections:
- General: Change the workspace name, URL slug, description, and image. You can also archive the workspace, convert it to a template, or delete it from this page.
- Features: Toggle workspace features on or off and drag to reorder navigation tabs.
- Fields: Manage the custom fields available in the workspace.
- Records: Configure record terminology (rename records to Tasks, Tickets, etc.) and set up record naming formulas.
- Card Interface: Customize how record cards appear on the board view.
- Copy: Duplicate the workspace and choose which components to copy.
- Import & Export: Import and export records from the workspace.
- PDF Templates: Create and manage PDF templates for records.
- OAuth Connections: Connect your workspace to external services such as GitHub or QuickBooks.
Warning
Deleting a workspace in Blue is permanent, and the data cannot be recovered. It is crucial to choose your workspace administrators carefully to prevent accidental deletions.
