Quick Add
Press R from anywhere to create a record in any workspace without navigating away.
Quick Add is the fastest way to capture a record. Press R from anywhere in Blue and a small dialog opens — pick a workspace, type the record name, hit Enter, you’re done. You stay exactly where you were.
Opening Quick Add
- Keyboard — press R from anywhere except a text editor.
- Menu — pick Quick Add from any top bar menu.
What you can set
The Quick Add dialog deliberately keeps things minimal so it’s actually quick:
- Workspace — pick any workspace you have access to. The picker remembers your last choice.
- List — the list within the workspace the record will land in.
- Record name — required.
- Assignee — optional.
- Due date — optional.
For everything else — custom fields, description, checklists, comments — open the record after creating it.
Behavior
- The dialog closes after creating the record and leaves you exactly where you were — no navigation away from your current view.
- The new record follows the workspace’s normal creation rules: default fields, automation triggers on creation, and any list-position defaults all apply.
- You need at least create record permission on the target workspace; workspaces where you can’t create show as disabled in the picker.
For capturing a record with its details — description, full field setup, checklist — open the workspace directly. Quick Add is for the bare-minimum capture, not the full edit.
