Slash Commands
Type / in any rich text editor to insert headings, lists, checklists, mentions, and more without leaving the keyboard.
Press / in any rich text editor — a record description, comment, document, wiki page, or chat message — to open the command menu. Type a few letters to filter, hit Enter to insert. Format and structure your content without lifting your hands off the keyboard.
Available commands
The slash menu covers most of what you’d otherwise reach into a toolbar for:
Formatting
- Headings (H1, H2, H3)
- Bulleted and numbered lists
- Checklists — works in docs and wiki as well as record descriptions
- Quotes, code blocks, dividers
Media and embeds
- Images and file attachments
- GIFs (powered by an inline picker)
- Video embeds
- Tables
Mentions and links
- Mention teammates
- Mention records
- Mention workspaces — drop a clickable link to another workspace
- Link to URLs
Behavior
- The menu is context-aware — commands that don’t make sense in the current editor are hidden (e.g. tables are not available in single-line fields).
- Type to filter — start typing the command name after the
/to narrow the list. - Keyboard-only — use the arrow keys to move and Enter to insert. Esc closes the menu without inserting anything.
- The
/character can still be typed literally — keep typing past the menu or press Esc first.
Pair slash commands with keyboard shortcuts — / to insert structure, shortcuts to navigate between records and views, and you’ll rarely need to touch the mouse.
